There are two schools of thought on this. For some people it works to shout from the roof tops that, "I am a realtor, therefore you should buy or sell through me." This theory works well when your audience craves your input about real estate and what is happening in the local market. You will see their interactions through comments, likes, and shares. Look back through your last 10-20 Facebook posts and see if you are experiencing a consistent amount of likes, comments and shares. If you are - great! If not it may be time to change it up.
The second theory on posting about your profession is to do it subtly. I am a fan keeping my personal page about personal events and creating a business page to display all my business content. If you are the person that likes to shout from the rooftops, that's cool and all, but in reality you may be frustrating some friends.
Now you may be thinking, "Oh great! Let's just add another thing to my social media plate, as if I didn't have a bagillion other things to do..." It's really not that difficult to keep up with if you put time blocking into place. I personally block out 30 min of my day to and devote it to interacting with friends, clients, and posting on my business page.
